Acts Alone
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how in the book of Acts alone there is a wealth of evidence that the Torah was still in effect and that eternal life is obtained by more than confession.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(remission of sin, it does not say eternal life)
Acts 6:13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the Torah: 14 For we have heard him say, that this Yahushua of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
(if a false witness says they changed the customs, then they in fact did not)
Acts 10:2 A devout man, and one that feared YHWH with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to YHWH always…10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him….10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
(How could a Gentile “fear YHWH” unless he was keeping the commandments? Notice it says that anyone who “fears HIM and works righteousness is accepted”, not he that believes only. Again it is repeated believing equals remission of sins, not eternal life.)
Acts 13:26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth YHWH, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
(it does not matter what your nationality is as long as you “feareth YHWH” [keep Torah])
Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the Torah of Moses.
(very key point, animal sacrifice could only cover your sin, not erase it, there was still a penalty to be paid. Yahushua as our sacrificial Lamb blots out sin as though it never happened, curse is removed)
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of YHWH.
(to be considered a disciple they had to continue in “the faith”, not a confession only, but continue to follow the Torah. It is not easy to enter the Kingdom; we must be worthy, not just confessors.)
Acts 16:20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, 16:21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
(everyone knows what customs the Jews are known for teaching, they were not teaching xmas and sun-day Sabbath)
Acts18:21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if YHWH will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
(Paul must keep the feast because it is a commandment, and being an obedient disciple he makes the feast)
Acts 20:6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
(Why would Paul be concerned about keeping “Unleavened Bread”, why not easter?)
Acts 20:16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
(the translators leave no doubt)
Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward YHWH, and faith toward our Master Yahushua HaMashiach (the Anointed One).
(same requirements as in Revelation, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH, and the faith of Yahushua.”)
Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of YHWH.
(Paul goes on record that he told them the entire Good News, not just the confession part)
Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the Eloah of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Torah and in the prophets:
(Paul under oath tells us point blank that he worships YHWH by following all that is in the Torah)
Acts 25:8 While he answered for himself, Neither against the Torah of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.
(Paul did nothing outside of anyone’s rules)
